FAQs

Q: Do you take donations of junk?
A: Sure we do. Check our "Junk It" section to see if you have something we're looking for.

Q: Didn't you used to be called Tiffany Tomato Designs? Where did that go?
A: Yes, that's our old name. We changed it to RePlayGround because we're a place where discards take on a new life. It's where scrap is turned into new > where it can laugh and play again.

Q: Is Tiffany's last name really Tomato?
A: Nope. But she spent a lot of summers picking tomatoes from the hundreds of plants her parents insisted on having every year. That name is in honor of her farmlife upbringing. Her parents also planted lots of beans, flowers, zucchini, and arugula. Tiffany Arugula didn't have quite the same ring to it.

Q: Where can I buy ReMake It kits? Where can I buy This into That books?
A: The ReMake It kits are on their way and should be available online and in stores very soon. Email ReMakeIt@replayground.com to be alerted as soon as they're in stock. The This into That book series are currently out of print. Copies are often available on Ebay and on Amazon.com.

Q: Do you have a MySpace page?
A: Yes. Do you? Be our friend - myspace.com/replayground

Q: Do you have an email list?
A: Yes. We have that, too. Go to our home page and sign up at the bottom.

Q: Who designed your website? Do you do web design?
A: We designed it. And yep, we've been known to design other eco-friendly websites, too.

Q: Who illustrated that nice picture of Tiffany at the top of the blog?
A: That was drawn by the super-talented Nate Maldonado.

Q: What exactly is eco-design?
A: The term eco-design is often used interchangeably with green design, eco-friendly design, environmentally conscious design and sustainable design. To us eco-design means using less, reusing more, and reducing our ecological footprint.

Q: You're confusing me. What's an ecological footprint?
A: It's basically a way of measuring the amount of resources a person needs to support their lifestyle. It includes things like food, water, energy and even cheap plastic stuff you buy at dollar stores. Here's Wikipedia's definition. If you want to find out your footprint, take the quiz here.

Q: What's the difference between the terms recycled and reclaimed?
A: Recycling is when you take a material and break it down by melting, crushing, or shredding it. Reclaimed is taking a material and reusing it as it is. Sometimes we use those terms interchangeably, but we mostly use reclaimed materials around here. Sometimes we use the word recycled simply because it's more widely recognized and doesn't need a long explanation... like this.

Q: What will you do when there's no more waste in the world? Like when we reduce our waste to 0%?
A: We'll be very happy people when that happens. Perhaps we'll catch up on movies on a low-energy flat screen LCD. Or we'll ride our bikes more. Cook more with locally raised food. Drink more organic wine. In the meantime, there's a lot of scrap out there for us to tackle.

Q: I have question for you that's not listed here.
A: Email it to us at moreinfo@replayground.com
